How to Get There

The best way to travel to Agate Beach House depends upon the time of day and (grrr) traffic.

The most scenic route, and usually the least congested, entails traveling 35 miles on I-5 South before crossing the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, through Gig Harbor and Allyn.

Distance from Sea-Tac Airport:  77 miles (if traveling via Tacoma Narrows – Gig Harbor – Bremerton – Belfair)

Most of this Tacoma Narrows Bridge route is comprised of curvy two-lane highway, which, while usually not as congested as the I-5 during heavy traffic, is best traveled during daylight (the road is not well lit at night).

Along this route, you can easily stop for food and wine before arriving at Agate Beach House:

Safeway, 23961 N.E. State Route 3, Belfair, WA 98528 (360) 275-0922

Top of the Cork (wine tasting room), 18351 E State Route 3, Allyn, WA 98524 (360) 275-5657

Alternatively, I-5 from Seattle through Olympia is an efficient route if there are no traffic snarles getting out of Seattle.

Distance from Sea-Tac Airport:  79 miles (if traveling I-5 through Olympia)
