Roosevelt Elk, Hoh Rainforest

The Hoh River valley was formed by glaciers thousands of years ago.

A couple of hours’ drive (a day trip) from Agate Beach House, visitors will find the largest temperate rainforest in North America.

Home to black-tailed deer, Roosevelt elk, raccoons, bobcats, cougars, and the Olympic black bear, the Hoh Rainforest dramatically draped in oversize vines is an old growth forest, home to many unique varieties of mosses and lichens.
